After the development of the second phase of the Amsterdam canals in 1658, the Spiegelgracht was dug in 1663. Today, the Spiegelgracht connections the Rijksmuseum with the Prinsengracht, and has been the heart of the national and international art and antiques trade for more than 80 years.
