This detached villa and former hotel, constructed from striking red brick, with a gross floor area of 2.400 m2, and quietly situated in the wealthy Willemspark area in Amsterdam South, was built in 1904 and designed by architect Jacques van Straaten jr. who also designed the Amsterdam branch of department store De Bijenkorf on Dam Square.

The main entrance of the project is situated on Koningslaan 1. Through the renovations, many elements are restored to their original state. The angular roof construction receives natural slate roofing and matching zinc and lead connections. Elements that are in good shape are cleaned and recent additions are removed. The fencing and natural stone elements are restored, as well as the window frames that will regain their original shape, with wooden rotating parts and doors that are fitted with insulated glazing.

All this will return the property, just a stone’s throw away from the Vondelpark, to its former glory; ready for the future and its residents.
