KONINGSLAAN 1
AMSTERDAM

In this striking red brick built detached villa and former hotel, with a gross floor area of approximately 2500 m2, located on the Koningslaan in the luxury district Willemspark next to the Vondelpark REB, will realize six spacious residences.

The building was built in 1904 and designed by architect Jacques van Straaten jr., also the designer of department store De Bijenkorf Amsterdam. From 1879 Van Straaten jr., descendant of the 19th century landscape and portrait painter Bruno van Straaten, has been apprenticed in Amsterdam at Pierre Cuypers’ architect’s office, famous architect of, among others, the Rijksmuseum and the Central Station in Amsterdam.

The main entrance of the building is at the Koningslaan. A parking space will be realized underneath the building. Both from the garage and from the central entrance, each floor is directly accessible by elevator and stairwell.

A balanced ventilation system with heat recovery, a collective heat-cold storage system and fireplaces on bio-ethanol are just a few preparations for the sustainable approach of this project.
